Passage: Luke 11:36*

"Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you."

Questions

1. What does Jesus mean in this passage?

2. How does the message apply to us?

Practical help

For many believers, the difference between casual faith and committed faith comes down to a pie: While casual believers see Christianity as a piece of their "life pie," committed believers view God as permeating the whole pie — work, family and even what Web sites they visit.

Jesus wants us to have a life completely free of darkness. Online porn works like the parable of the leaven in reverse, a small bad spreading like cancer through a larger good. Is it any wonder that a few verses earlier in Luke, Jesus says that the eyes — the organs that fill us with the rankest pornography or the holiest writ — are the lamp of the body?

The upshot? Close your eyes to Web porn. The alternative is ever-increasing darkness.
