Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

Passage: 2 Corinthians 7:1*

Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

Questions

1. What are the promises?

2. What does it mean to purify one's self?

3. Why should you purify yourself?

Practical help

When you prepare food, you take pains to make sure nothing inedible is included. You wash your chicken before you cook it. If your flour has weevils in it, you throw it out. When you open a Tupperware container from the back of the fridge and the contents look like a first-grader's painting with primary colors, you don't just dig in, do you? Then why do you continue to go after impure things to feast on with your eyes? It's more damaging to pollute your soul than food poisoning is to your body.

Try to remember why it is you live, and for whom. Our lives belong to God whether we admit it or not. Remember who he is and what pleases him.
