Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

Passage: 2 Corinthians 2:14-15 *

14. But thanks be to God, who always leads us in His triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.

15. For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing;

Questions

1. Paul likens the effect he has on people to a fragrant aroma. What effects might different scents have on you?

2. What aroma does Paul spread wherever he goes?

Practical help

Of all the physical senses, the olfactory sense may be the strongest. We are calmed or excited, nauseated, or reminded of past events by the sense of scent.

The particular "aroma" I leave behind is related to the motivating priority in my life. When I am living for Jesus, the scent that lingers after I leave the room is that of the Gospel. When I am living for myself, people "smell" me.

If I (or you) pursue porn, we leave behind a fragrance, but probably not the one we would wish.

Christians want to make an impact for Jesus. Involvement with porn pretty well guarantees that we won't make maximum impact for Him. Cut the cords to porn, and enhance the strength of the "eau de Messiah" that you carry with you.
