Welcome
to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand
strong in the face of sexual temptation.
Passage:
2 Corinthians 2:17*
For we are not like many,
peddling the word of God, but as from sincerity, but
as from God, we speak in Christ in the sight of
God.
Questions
1. To what does Paul
compare people he knows who do not serve the Lord
"sincerely"?
2. What keeps Paul on the road
of integrity?
Practical
help
Included in an actual job
performance review given by a British military officer
of a subordinate is this comment. "Works well when
under constant supervision and cornered like a rat in
a trap." Zing!
That senior officer had
discovered something about the junior officer that is
true about most of us. Who we are when no one's
looking says a lot about us! It is no secret that when
we are in secret, we are tempted to do things we would
never do in a crowd. Alone and unwatched, most of us
are more likely to give in to temptation, even seek
out misbehaving ways, than if we are
supervised.
Paul found that the key to his
own life of integrity was to remember that he was
never alone. The movie making the rounds again this
year has a wrong-headed title. We are never
"Home Alone."
Everything Paul did and said was
said and done "in the sight of God."
Our fight against porn becomes
winnable when we remember that our loving, Heavenly
Father (who is also the holy and righteous Almighty!)
is with us at every surfing moment.
