Passage:
Ecclesiastes
2:10-11*
10. I denied myself
nothing my eyes desired; I refused my heart no
pleasure. My heart took delight in all my work, and
this was the reward for my labor.
11. Yet when I surveyed all that
my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve,
everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind;
nothing was gained under the sun.
Questions
Solomon, the writer, uses
the book of Ecclesiastes to chronicle his search for
meaning in his life. In this part of the text, he
discussed his chasing after pleasure.
1. What do your eyes
desire?
2. What do you consider to be
pleasure?
3. Can you relate these ideas
to viewing web porn?
Practical
Help
The history of man centers
around his search for meaning and pleasure in life.
Solomon came to the conclusion that his chasing after
pleasure was meaningless.
Web porn is seemingly inviting
and pleasurable, but the result of viewing it is
meaningless. It does not add value or meaning to your
life. Others have faced this temptation and overcome
it with God's help. Pray for God's help that you may
do the same.
