Passage: Proverbs 3:21-26*
21. My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them
out of your sight;
22. they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck.
23. Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not
stumble;
24. when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down,
your sleep will be sweet.
25. Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes
the wicked,
26. for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot
from being snared.
Question
Are you afraid of giving in again to Web porn? What would make your
fear go
away?
Practical help
Afraid porn temptation is too powerful to resist?
The verses above promise an antidote to such fear, namely wisdom.
Check out verse 23. It says living wisely assures safety and
sure-footedness throughout life.
How does this apply to resisting smut? Two suggestions:
1. Commit yourself to discovering Biblical wisdom.
2. Discover it — and apply it — with help from faithful
friends.
Then you'll find that porn is resistible — and that fears to
the contrary are lies. You'll "have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that
overtakes the wicked" (verse 25).
