Passage: Proverbs 3:21-26*
21. My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them
out of your sight;
22. they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck.
23. Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not
stumble;
24. when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down,
your sleep will be sweet.
25. Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes
the wicked,
26. for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot
from being snared.

Practical help
Eventually, porn strugglers realize they need help — that they
can't resist smut on their own strength.
Some strugglers learn this truth quickly. Others learn it only after
many defeats from using willpower alone.
A main application of the passage above is that Biblical wisdom
— far from being mere moralisms — gives you an indispensable ally in your
resistance to porn: God.
When you "preserve sound judgment and discernment," God
will
- Give you life (verse 22)
- Give you safety and sure-footedness (23)
- Help you sleep peacefully (24)
- Help you be unafraid of sudden disaster (25)
- Protect you from traps (26)
So find a faithful friend, search out Biblical wisdom together, and
apply it to your struggle against smut.
Then discover what resistance to porn is like when God is your
confidence (26).
