Welcome
to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand
strong in the face of sexual temptation.
Passage:
Colossians 3:14*
And beyond all these
things put on love, which is the perfect bond of
unity.
Questions
1. Is it easy for you to
love?
2. Does porn have a unifying
effect on your life or make it more
fractured?
Practical
help
So how do you "put on
love" (as in verse 14 above)?
Somehow that seems a little
artificial. Is love something you can take out of the
dresser drawer and put on when you get dressed in the
morning? Doesn't it have to be a part of you? And
what's all this "perfect bond of unity"
stuff?
Picture this Before the
first man and woman thought they needed to know as
much as God does, they lived in a perfect, harmonious,
unified and love-based world. At that time all they
needed to wear, literally, was God's love. Man (Adam)
and woman (Eve) walked around in the buff, and it was
lovely, not pornographic.
Enter sin. The formerly unified
world is now disjoint, and so goes the
sublime.
Now the buff view beckons
disjoint thoughts, and clothes are a must. Not because
the view is necessarily bad, we just can't manage what
it causes us to think. This disjoint thinking happens
because our nature (since the fall) is no longer
love-based. Pre-fall love just doesn't come naturally
any more; it has to be chosen, embraced, worn. (To

Would you love to rid yourself
of a porn habit? Purpose to put on God's love every
morning. Go through the motions of putting it on if
that helps focus your thinking. It will certainly help
you to see what is lovely and what is not.
