Passage: I John 2:15-17*

15. Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16. For everything in the world-- the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does-- comes not from the Father but from the world.

17. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

Question

If God created the world (and worldly things), why shouldn't you love it?

Practical help

What do the world (or worldly things) and pornography have in common?

They can be so exceedingly beautiful and desirous that they divert your time and attention away from where God intended you spend it.

You were created with 'built-in' desires to adore and worship – not the brilliant greenery of the golf course and not the provocative unclothed image on your computer – but the almighty creator who brought everything into being.

The world (and all it's beauty) is here for but one purpose – to direct the love and devotion of your heart to the creator!

Have you adored him lately? Read Psalm 104 and let your heart sing to God.
