Passage: Colossians 3:16a*

Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you....

Questions

1. How valuable is your time?

2. What "return on investment" does your time spent with porn give you?

Practical help

It's hard to be any more practical than what Jesus says in Luke 12:34* — "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

Now, if you and I can think past the "I can't help it, I'm hooked" mentality and look at ourselves from the outside — willing to objectively analyze a bit — what would we see?

Maybe a person with some hang-ups, relational problems, loneliness or just plain boredom. These are legitimate human conditions, agreed? So how is this person dealing with these conditions?

Today (maybe always) time is my most precious commodity and therefore it must be my treasure. How about you? What I do with it tells me where my heart is. Where is yours? Where do you want it be?

Today's verse tells you where it could be — filled with the rich word of Christ! The verse begins with "Let" and that's good news because instead of thinking things like "I can't help it" you can start thinking things like "I can help it." The verse also says Christ's word can richly dwell within you, meaning when it's there (in you) it has great value and the more you have the greater a treasure it becomes. Time is riches. It can be squandered on the inevitable bankruptcy of porn or invested in the rich word of Christ. The clock is ticking.
