in the movies," say the Hollywood types. "That stuff doesn't affect people. It's
just entertainment."
The statement contains a grain of truth. Many off us have seen
untold rapes and murders on screen, yet have remained free of felonies. Still, more and
more media observers acknowledge that what we see guides what we do. Otherwise, why would
advertisers spend millions on Super Bowl spots?
This fact should give porn viewers pause. The images we see will
take their toll, maybe not in felonies, but in the misdemeanors of wandering eyes and
depraved fantasies.
