Welcome
to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand
strong in the face of sexual temptation.
Passage:
Mark 4:21-23*
21. And [Jesus]
was saying to them, A lamp is not brought to be
put under a basket, is it? Or under a bed? Is it not
brought to be put on the lampstand?
22. For nothing is hidden,
except to be revealed; nor has anything been secret,
but that it would come to light.
23. "If anyone has ears to hear,
let him hear.
Questions
1. How would you feel if
you found out that other people actually knew how you
were living when you thought you were alone? How does
this thought relate to verse 22 above?
2. What happens to you when you
hide the truth of who you are from others? You could
probably come up with a list of ten or more things if
you gave it some thought.
Practical
help
In the Bible the idea of
light is related to the idea of
truth. In todays society, the common
belief is that there is no such thing as absolute
truth. If it feels good or if it works,
its true for you is the prevailing
philosophy. The problem is that this idea is false.
The evidence of life invalidates it completely. When
people start tampering with the evidence and start
manipulating what is true in order to fit their
agendas, they are skating on very thin ice. Pretending
light is darkness or that wrong is right doesnt
make it so.
For those who are trying to
justify pornography I suggest they take verse 22 above
to heart. Eventually God will have His day, and who
you truly are in secret will be hidden no longer. My
advice is to live in the true reality that there is a
God and you should listen to him, that is, if you have
ears to hear.
