Guides them (click to see) Take to heart this assurance of forgiveness: Passage: 1 John 1:9* If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. When you think you've sinned too much? When you feel tired and ashamed of your visits to porn sites? Here's what 1 John 1:9 tells us: 1. God is faithful with you. He stands by his promises no matter what you think or feel. 2. One of God's promises: He is just with you, meaning he insists on justice for your sin. He got justice — Jesus' death on the cross instead of your death. 3. Based on this justice, God delivers on another of his promises: He forgives you. Though you deserve death row, you get a pardon. 4. Another promise based on the justice at the cross: God makes you clean from shame — no matter how dirty you feel. Own up to your sin.
