Passage: Philippians 3:18-21*
18. For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even
weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ,
19. whose end is destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose
glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things.
20. For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly
wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;
21. who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity
with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all
things to Himself.
Questions
1. Two groups of people are obviously listed above. Describe and
contrast the groups.
2. Which one most represents where you are in relation to Jesus
Christ?
3. How valuable is pornography in light of the eternal destination
we are heading for?
4. What is the Christians ultimate hope when it comes to changing?
Practical help
A lesson a few days ago looked at Romans 12 and the idea of
transforming the mind. As we look to Christ to save us ultimately, we can trust Him to
change us starting today. As we trust Him to transform our minds now, we will later have
an even more complete transformation.
Unfortunately there is another side to the story. These are not
people ignorant of the offer Christ has extended. They simply found present glitter more
attractive an option. Pornography may seem pleasurable today, but it will not last and
ultimately it will be a bitter pill to swallow.
