Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

Passage: 2 Corinthians 5:18-19*

18. Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,

19. namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

Questions

1. What did God accomplish through Christ?

2. As people now reconciled to God, what great privilege has been given to us?

Practical help

When two parties are reconciled it means that they have been brought together. A settlement has been made, and the thing hindering the relationship has been canceled and taken out of the way.

God’s grace restores our relationship with Him. That’s the second principle of God’s extreme grace toward us. He took the initiative to reconcile us to Himself. Our sin was the hindrance, and Jesus’ sacrificial death settled the issue forever, bringing those who believe into relationship with God.

As men and women reconciled to God, we have now been given the ministry of inviting others to faith in Christ. The Father gives us the privilege of joining Him in drawing others to experience His extreme grace through faith in Jesus.

Stand strong in the Lord today against temptations to sexual sin. Don’t give in to the base and lesser things of the flesh. Instead, walk in the Father’s extreme grace and your ministry of reconciliation for those around you. Seeing someone you love eventually come to faith in Jesus will bring great joy both to you and your Father in heaven.
